The world-class Elounda Mare Hotel is a unique holiday pleasure-resort, nestled in the charming Mirabello Bay. Since 1988 it has been a member of the international Relais & Chateaux hotel chain.
Elounda Mare is a delight of traditional Cretan architecture and interior design. The typical whitewashed surfaces bind harmoniously with the brown and grey rock walls and the local carob and olive trees. The decoration is exclusively antique pieces of folk art: carpets, chests, tapestries, mantelpieces, and fine Cretan marble throughout the halls and salons.
The main building lounges are centered round the Karavia Bar. The Elounda Mare Hotel has been awarded the European Blue Flag for the past 9 consecutive years in recognition of the continuous efforts to maintain the environment in pristine condition, for efficient water management and wastewater treatment, and for the participation in the rising of environmental awareness among staff and the local schoolchildren.

Room facilities
Guests are accommodated in 80 units. 37 Rooms and Suites compose the main hotel and there are 43 Bungalows and Bungalow Suites. All Rooms and Suites in the main building face the sea and have a balcony or terrace. The Bungalows, which also face the sea, have individual Air-conditioning units and include a Seawater Swimming Pool that is either private or shared with the neighbouring bungalow. Most of the Swimming Pools are heated during spring and autumn (25 degrees Celsius). All rooms, main-building suites and most bungalows are equipped with Air-bath tubs and most have a Separate Shower. All bungalows are equipped with a Sunshade and Deck Chairs.
All accommodation types are equipped with: Air-conditioning / heating, Satellite TV with music channels, Direct-dial telephone, Fully fitted marble bathroom, Hairdryer, Mini-Bar, Safety deposit box, Scales, Bathrobes and Slippers, High Speed Broadband Internet Connection.

Sports & Leisure
A large Heated Seawater Swimming Pool with a Paddling Pool for children lies in front of the main hotel. There are extended lawns and seaside sundecks along the shore where sunshades and deck chairs are provided free of charge for private sunbathing. By the sandy beach, Sea Sports include water-skiing and Scuba diving tuition. There are also Windsurfs as well as and Motor Boat for charter, Yacht charter, Windsurfing, Sailing Yacht, Water-skiing, Canoes, Pedaloes, and various other sea sports. Sports also include two artificial grass Tennis Courts with tuition available, a Fitness Room and Table Tennis, Golf Executive 9 hole, par-3 course, Golf Academy and Pro Shop at sister establishment Porto Elounda De Luxe Resort.

Bar & Restaurants
There are three different restaurants with a variety of services: A freshly prepared dishes are served at the Deck Restaurant in the main hotel, Yacht Club Restaurant by the sea, Old Mill Restaurant near the swimming pool. A five-course table d'hote menu, a la carte menu with local and international dishes are also available. Guests are required not to wear T-shirts or short trousers in the evening. The Karavia Bar situated in the main hotel, with magnificent views over the Mirabello Bay and Sitia Mountains, is enlivened with soft piano music in the early evening. Room service runs round the clock with a wide selection of food and beverage, all served with courtesy and efficiency.

Conference facilities
Elounda Mare provides a broad choice of Meeting Facilities for 150 persons. While the Hotel will be of interest to organizers of larger events, it is a perfect proposition for small incentive groups. In these surroundings, the group will always project a strong presence and it is sure to feel the effect of a very special environment. The fully equipped Meeting and Banqueting Facilities are addressed to Conferences up to 100 delegates, and ideally suited to the needs of small incentive groups. The Lato Conference Room can host up to 100 delegates, whereas a plethora of Boardrooms like the Blue Room and the Media Cave ensure that whatever Incentive, Lecture, or even a Bridge-playing Group will find what is best suited to their needs. The magnificent Square around the Santa Marina Orthodox Chapel, next to the Yacht Club and Gallery, can be the venue for Cocktails or a Gala Dinner.
