  Going through history Tolon used to be the ancient port of Mycine preventing war ships invasions when guards inspecting at the top of the hill of ancient Assini (edge of Tolon's sandy beach) were waving torches to the next team of guards at the top of the hill of prophet Elaja (outside of Assini new village) who did the same to team at the top of the hill outside of Nafplion town; so that message eventually received by the main city of Mycine built on a hill outside of Argos town.

  In the last century Tolon received emigrants from Crete sent away by the Turkish Pasha of Crete and accepted by the new Greek state at the time governed by the king Otto the first from Bavaria.

  These emigrants turned to be shepherds or fishermen and at the end of the sixties evolved new businesses such as hotels, restaurants etc.

  The village of Tolo stretches along a sandy beach with fine sand and crystal waters; framed by two islands and the finger-rock of the ancient Assini thus configuring a kind of lagoon with an exceptional natural beauty.
